The Collection

MODO knows that when objects tell their stories, people remember:
they connect with them on an emotional and visceral level rooted in experience.

MODO has a collection of more than 150,000 objects that document everyday life, from the beginning of the 19th century to the present day. The different categories in which the collection is divided provide a unique opportunity to learn from both historical moments and everyday life; to compare and contrast objects and to discover important social and cultural changes, as well as in production and manufacturing methods.

As a whole, the collection offers a remarkable panorama of the mundane and the exotic, each becoming the other, which provides a fascinating catalog of who we are, what we are, what we consume, what we remember and how we choose to present all this complexity, and therefore ourselves, to the world.
